So You Want to Make Money on the Internet?

There is a particular phrase that is often used in Internet marketing circles for the purpose of encouraging new recruits into the business and that phrase refers to people who hold down a regular job. The phrase I am referring to is “Just over Broke”. It is a phrase used to undermine those in regular employment and to encourage them into believing there is a better – smarter – way to earning money. It is true to suggest that there is a smarter way and that there is probably no smarter way than through Internet marketing. However, there is more than just comfort to be had from having a regular steady income each week or month. Without a regular income your financial circumstances can quickly spiral out of control to such a point where even the most basic daily expenses become impossible. Nobody should feel inferior or inadequate because they hold down a normal job; there is nothing wrong with normal.

Most successful Internet entrepreneurs made their fortunes by sheer accident. They stumbled across an idea which they then put into practice. Many will have tried several different ventures before hitting the jackpot. The one thing they all have in common is the ability to put their ideas into practice. The trouble with most people whom attempt to make lots of money through Internet marketing give up before they actually get going. It is all too easy to view those that have made substantial sums of money via the Internet as an overnight success, when the reality is they have been trying many different avenues over a number of years before finally hitting on a system which actually works. Most of us are looking for the overnight success but when we wake to find our Inbox is not full of orders we automatically assume that success is not possible and everyone else is a scam artist.

It is fair to suggest that you will fail with most of your ventures and that in order to become successful you be willing to accept these failures and be prepared to move onto the next project. Anyone who believes that success can occur overnight is in for major disappointment and those looking for a “push button” money making business should stay well clear of Internet marketing. If you are one of these people seeking overnight wealth then I would recommend you remain in your normal 9 to 5 job. Just over broke is much better than completely broke. Quitters do not make money or become successful. Quitters tend to whinge and whine a lot and are often identifiable on forums with their negative posts. Quitters can make good customers in the short-term because they seldom stick with one product for long enough before wanting to move on to the next. This is why Internet marketer uses the up-sell to their advantage.

Sometimes you just have to figure it out for yourself. What works for one person may not be the best for everyone else. There is no point in trying to flog a dead horse. To be successful you need to do your own careful research and testing. You must accept you will make mistakes (hopefully not too costly) and you must learn from those mistakes. But you absolutely must not give in: Never.

Maybe you will earn large sums of money from Internet marketing and maybe you won’t, but you stand a much greater chance of success if you keep trying than if you simply give it up as a lost cause.
